Why Did We Leave Love?

                              


                                                               


It is said that "love is the absence of fear" and "fear is the absence of love". Our most fundamental and essential nature is love and it is through love that we are connected to everyone and everything. So how have we become so separated from who we really are (LOVE) and the SOURCE of our BEING? It seems obvious that somewhere in our lives we have gotten frightened, so frightened, in fact, that we decided to separate from the very essence of who we actually are, and the nature of all that constitutes meaning and purpose in our lives. What could have frightened us that much? 

What could have happened to us that could have created such a fundamental rupture. Something did, and it became so traumatizing that we have spent our entire life covering up for that choice to separate from love and from the source of that love. It has left us alone and afraid with a fear of the order of terror and panic, some even hysterical at the thought of even approaching the topic, much less actually returning. It is a place where we feel like we died and it would mean death to return there. 

So we have been left alone in this place where we feel like our soul, our spirit, our very being, and all that was real in our life has died. What we are left with is an experience of unidentifiable sadness that we can't quite explain, an artificial, unreal experience of our life and no hope of ever returning to what is true and real about us ... to who we really are. 

As a guide and counsellor the saddest thing I would ever see in my clients is the belief that they have "no permission to be who they actually are". A loss of being and level of despair that robbed them completely of their authentic identity, loss of purpose, of meaning, connection to others and the world around them. What could possibly have caused this heart wrenching, soul deep despair?


 

"The shift from Fear to Love, is literally, a "Miracle", and nothing short of it. It is a beautiful moment of gentle vulnerability and sweet Surrender in a place flowing with Grace and Love, where we once thought we had died, and would surely die again, only to discover it as a place of Re-Birth and of Resurrection, born again in Innocence through the Miracle of Love.

              Why Did We Leave Love?   In the truest sense of the word, Love would never hurt, if we continued to love through whatever circumstance was presenting itself. Indeed the very term we use, unconditional Love, is redundant, since Love implies unconditionality. So, really we are rarely ever living or experiencing Love in its truest sense.  We continually hear people blaming love for their pain. It does get painful if we stop loving right in the middle of a rejection or a betrayal. That is what we do though, withdraw our love, as if the fault was in the loving.         Why Did We Leave Love?                            It is very difficult to remember why we would have made a choice to abandon love, our purpose, and our authentic being. In fact, very few are able to actually remember this choice without the assistance of a Guide, or Counsellor. It was, for each of us, a place of woundedness, heartbreak, and trauma. So much so that it felt like a place of death, or a temptation to die. In essence, we not only gave up our connection to love, but also our vital link to our Innocence, and our value as a Gift to Life. It is at this point that our ego begins to develop, and to take over the basic job of our survival.
